My wife and I stayed at the Amari Avenue Hotel for 4 nights and I have to say we had a great time. We really found the staff to be very polite, especially Ms. Titima (pardon the spelling) at the front desk who was very helpful. We also have to mention the front office manager who went out of his way to help us after we left our phones in the taxi. Since the guard took down the license plate number, the manager found the phone for us via the radio and delivered it to our room. We booked a one-day tour of Kanchanaburi at the tourism office on the second day of our trip. The arrangement was very good that day, so we booked a one-day tour of the Royal Palace the next day. The place was so beautiful: there was glittering gold everywhere. The tour guide was very nice and we gave him some tips. Our room was very nice and kept very clean. The room maid was very nice, on the third day she told us that she was on leave the next day, so one of her colleagues would clean it. We were a little disappointed as she was a really nice person and kept us organized while we were traveling during the day which made us feel comfortable. It feels really good to come back to the hotel to a fresh room. We thought the TV was a bit old, but it had over 20 channels, but we didn't come to Bangkok just to watch TV. The lobby staff are also commendable. We went for a drink the first day and the next time we went they remembered what we had had last time. Even my husband's gin and tonic only came with a piece of ice and they noticed. We felt safe and secure walking around there. Thai people are nice and friendly. The supermarket opposite the hotel is great. Open 24 hours and they have a wide selection of products. We even discovered a Margos red wine. Who would buy that in Thailand? Overall, it was a pleasant experience with friendly people. We will definitely come again next year. We wish everyone at the hotel a Happy New Year!
