My stay at the Cape York Peninsula Lodge in a studio was fabulous. I enjoyed the privacy, and looking out to Mosby Creek from my verandah where I frequently spotted freshwater turtles resting on a log. The studio was well equiped and super clean. My first night happened to co-inside with a 'Mexican Night' at the restaurant. As I have some dietary requirements I was very pleasantly surprised that the offerings at the buffet dinner included different options for those who are gluten intolerant, dairy free or vegetarian/vegan. The different dishes were delicious, topped with fresh herbs etc. (I enjoyed it so much so that I admit to going back for a second helping). Staying at a time that it is hot and humid, I enjoyed my dips in the saltwater pool. And last but not least I like to mention that staff are really helpful and friendly.

Greeted at the airport by a very friendly gentleman and transported to accommodation in lodge bus (surcharge). Free onsite parking. Luggage storage available if required. Definitely consider staying in this clean, quiet accommodation, the outdoor pool was refreshing after a day of work and exploring. Rooms clean and well kept. Grounds immaculate and beautiful with that true tropical vibe. Single level property, with well lit paths after dark. Wheelchair accessible. Family and solo traveller friendly. Everything you need to rest and recharge. Ate at the restaurant the food was fresh and cooked perfectly I had the fish. Menu varied with excellent menu choices. Very busy during my stay. Staff super friendly and only to willing to see your trip and stay was Memorable. Hire car was fantastic through the lodge and easy to drive out to the “tip” 4WD experience I would say a must. Cape York Peninsula lodge was a wonderful and definitely the place to stay.

We were left in a real bind by another accommodation place, last minute, end of season and Cape York Peninsula SAVED us from sleeping in our car. Not only were they so understanding of our dilema, the room was amazing, the grounds, so relaxing and the restaurant next level. We had a great time and will stay here every time we are up that way. Thanks again so much for your generosity and kindness :)

We booked a day trip to The Tip and it was an excellent day out. Michael, our indigenous ranger guide, was an excellent driver & very knowledgeable about the area. He took us to lots of secluded, interesting spots. Would definitely recommend if you want to see lots in one day

Over rated, passengers treated as if they didn't matter, take it or leave it attitude by some staff members. Food dreadful on second night, fish was still frozen in the middle with water running out of it, uneatable. Breakfast was a joke, told a time to come after 2 other groups, almost nothing left, told that's all there is by staff, didn't give a hoot, just wanted to clean up and get out of there. Would not recommend to anyone, threatened to be taken to court by management if l didn't pay for lunches we never ordered or received over $600, the place is a joke for the money you pay, but they have it wrapped up, as very little choices up there. Stay away!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cape York Peninsula lodge. The lodge was easy to find, and check in was quick and easy. After travelling it was a treat to find the laundry facilities were free to use. The restaurant was lovely, beautiful setting and the meals and service were great.

We spent two nights at the Peninsula Lodge and were grateful to have the use of their laundry after some days on the road. Our room was very good and comfortable, likewise the bathroom worked well. The bed and pillow was very comfortable ensuring a good sleep. The accommodation and whole complex is well designed and the grounds pleasant. The dining area is very noisy especially when large tour groups arrive. The evening of our arrival there was a Torres Strait Island cultural show which was very professional and enjoyable. Food and drinks were of a good range and quality but the steaks were very tough. Breakfast especially was really good. Overall a good brief stay to explore the Tip of Cape York area. Security for our group became a bit of an issue with one member having the room broken into and his camera stolen.

So grateful for the cultural experience we had touring Pajinka with two elders at Cape York Peninsula Lodge. Uncle Michael and Uncle Tommy welcomed us to their country and took great care for our safety to make it a wonderful experience right from the start. They both had a terrific sense of humour and shared stories from their culture including the Aboriginal story of the island’s formation dating back to the Ice Age! They took extra special care of one of our group who had trouble walking and was quite elderly, even changing our tour to make sure we were able to reach the northern most point (we learned to call it the Top of Australia or Pajinka). They took ‘the selfie’ for us in front of the sign and the view was really worth it. This was a once in a lifetime trip that the whole group enjoyed immensely.
