The Samaya Ubud

Ubud Bali|0.8km from Kayumanis Ubud Private Villa & Spa
My husband and I had an amazing stay at The Samaya Ubud. We spent 3 nights at the Ayung Villa and did not want to leave! The villa is very spacious, clean and well maintained – with just the right balance between modern and Balinese style decor. The bathroom is huge and equipped with a private jaccuzi. There is also a 1.8m-deep private swimming pool that is quite large. The hotel consists of a number of villas and they are a fair distance away from the reception area, but a buggy service is provided to transport guests back and forth from their villas. The Samaya Ubud has a beautiful scenery and is centrally located, it is only about 15-minute drive away from local attractions such as the Ubud Monkey Forest and Saraswati Temple. A free shuttle service from the hotel to Ubud Central is provided. The service was impeccable, every single one of the staff that we met during our stay was extremely friendly and helpful. We had informed the hotel that we were visiting Bali to celebrate my birthday / our honeymoon, and they provided us with complimentary wine, decorated our room with flowers, and even surprised me with a cake on my birthday (right after we checked out & just before we left!) We felt very well looked-after throughout our stay here and we could tell that they truly served from the heart. One of the highlights of our stay was the romantic candlelit dinner at the Swept Away restaurant overlooking the Ayung River. The 7-course dinner was delicious, and the staff were very attentive throughout the dinner. We couldn’t finish everything and they helped to pack the remaining food and delivered them to our room. The dinner set up was very beautiful – the staff went above and beyond with the set up, placing 100 candles around the dining area, even at the riverbank! They also kindly helped us take many photos and videos to capture this unforgettable moment. We really loved our stay at The Samaya Ubud, and we are hoping to go back there one day. We highly recommend this hotel for those looking for a place to stay in Ubud, especially for couples! Thank you very much for your hospitality, The Samaya Ubud Team, sukses selalu!!! 😊

Ubud Bali|0.12km from Kayumanis Ubud Private Villa & Spa
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 10 nights. We know that's a long time but figured Ubud had most of the attractions we want to see. If you just glance at the villa and don't look too closely, it's lovely! Nice private pool, big bathtub, big shower, comfortable. Don't get me wrong, the staff were lovely, especially the lady that greeted us on the first night. BUT we were told it was about an hour away from the airport, it took us almost 3 hours to get there after landing. We ordered room service as it was too late to go across to the restaurant of a villa across the road, the food came cold, no trace of warmth at all we have to microwave it which made it taste gross. Wanting a nice hot bath after a long flight and being all sweaty also apparently wasn't an option, why have a big beautiful bath tub that can't even be filled? It got to about 1/5 of the way full before the water coming out was ice cold, tried the shower and taps and they too were ice cold, must have some sort of limiter. So bear in mind you can only have a hot shower for about 8 minutes or so. We ordered breakfast the next morning (not much breakfast choice) for 8:15, they woke us up at 7:40 ringing the door bell, we thought this might be a one off but breakfast came 30 minutes early every time we ordered it, always waking us up, breakfast was often cold. The villa really doesn't have much around it it's down a side street with one restaurant nearby and trying to book drivers (Grab/Go-jek) is a nightmare, no one wants to come that far out and you have to pay them triple to take you anywhere. Now you think the pool would be nice and refreshing after soaking up the sun all day but it was freezing cold the whole time, even after having 30 degrees sun on it all day it was still freezing cold. Don't look too close as everything needs a good clean and fittings etc are unfinished and dirty. Overall we hoped for a better experience and will definitely ask more questions before we book somewhere next time.

The Gantari Ubud Hotel & Villa

Ubud Bali|0.31km from Kayumanis Ubud Private Villa & Spa
I recently had the misfortune of staying at Gantari Ubud in Bali for two nights, and my experience can only be described as a horror story of epic proportions. Almost every aspect of my stay was marred by issues, and I feel compelled to share the depth of my disappointment. Upon arriving at my much-anticipated villa, I was met with an immediate letdown. The pool, a supposed highlight of the villa, was far from clean. The water, rather than inviting me for a relaxing swim, repulsed me. It was evident that the pool had not been cleaned properly, if at all. This blatant disregard for basic cleanliness and hygiene standards was not only disappointing but also a clear breach of trust. In addition to the unclean pool, the absence of hot water in my villa and subsequent deceitful room change to an executive room further compounded my misery. The staff, instead of rectifying the situation, callously shifted me to a different room, promising a refund for the inconvenience caused. However, when my stay ended, they conveniently reneged on their promise, offering a 5% refund that didn't even come close to compensating for the ordeal I endured (which they haven't paid yet) Furthermore, the location, though quiet, proved to be a logistical nightmare. Situated far from the city center, it was impossible to explore the area without a personal vehicle. This vital piece of information was conveniently omitted during booking, leaving me feeling isolated and trapped. To make matters worse, the lack of staff presence after 11 pm, coupled with the absence of hot water, made my nights unbearable. One particular night, when I desperately sought a hot shower, I was left stranded. Despite my calls for help, there was no one available, leaving me to endure the discomfort until the next morning. In summary, my stay at Gantari Ubud was a series of disappointments and deceit. From the unclean pool in the supposedly luxurious villa to the absence of basic amenities and the staff's lack of integrity, every aspect of my experience was tainted. I urge anyone considering a stay here to reconsider. The sheer disregard for cleanliness and guest satisfaction, combined with the deceitful practices, make Gantari Ubud a place to avoid at all costs. My hard-earned money was squandered on an experience that was anything but luxurious, leaving me deeply regretful and utterly dissatisfied.

I really like the design style of the entire hotel. The plants, buildings, and people are perfectly integrated. The hotel also provides rich afternoon tea. The hotel decoration feels detailed and comfortable, luxurious but not ostentatious. Every detail is paid attention to. It is a wonderful accommodation experience. It is worth recommending.

The environment is very good, the original ecology, come in January, there will be rain at night, mosquitoes, good food. A careful choice for fear of mosquitoes and spiders.

This is one of the best resorts I’ve stayed at. Mainly because of the staff. Each and everyone is amazing. Very helpful and genuinely kindhearted, going above and beyond .The villa is also great with a clean pool. I was really sad to leave and wanted to stay longer. Would highly recommend if staying in Ubud. Arya is in a quieter peaceful area, away from the bustling CBD. The hotel has a buggy and tuk tuk that takes you to the main road where taxi’s can pick you up. They can also take you to Ubud centre where you can explore restaurants, shops,Ubud Palace,Ubud market etc. The breakfast is delicious and tried a few dishes from the restaurant which were great. Thanks to the amazing staff, you made my stay pleasant and felt like I was “home”. Will definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommend.

Went there half a year ago, and remembered that the review was also drunk. This hotel is highly recommended. The beauty is like a fairy tale, quiet and noisy, and things are delicious. There are many foreigners, few Chinese, and middle and upper class. , A villa with a pool should be great, anyway, just go
