Lalasa Villas Canggu

Lalasa Villas was incredible. We were there for about a week. The villas were clean, beautiful and the food was great. The staff were so welcoming and made us feel at home. The villa is situated in a good location, close to many restaurants, pharmacies, stores and beach clubs. The place really made our vacation in Canggu, Bali.

We had stayed at Lalalsa Previously in Aug 22 and had a great trip. We booked again and went for our wedding anniversary in March 24. When we arrived we noticed all of the villas around us were being renovated. We received a text from Lalasa 30 min after we checked in thanking us for our understanding of the current renovations and noise. Ummm, if we knew BEFORE hand, we would have moved our booking date. In a nutshell, there was grinding and industrial noise every day - all day - all night. It was impossible to stay at our villa during the day to lay around the pool as it was constant noise. At night it didnt stop either! Furthermore we couldnt enjoy the facilities, as there is a lovely communal pool area & bar, but they were renovating a new bar area, and there was constant grinding and noise there aswell! There was literally no escape. We complained to the managers on duty several times, and they were all lovely and even offered to move us, but the only rooms available were small and a fair downgrade to what we booked, so we declined. In honesty, the staff were all lovely, and tried their best and it was not their fault. I complained direct to Lalasa management to ask for a refund or credit for our trip, and was informed that according to their booking terms and conditions they cannot refund due to circumstances "out of their control, such as building and renovating on their site". Im pretty sure they control the renovations, and letting guests know about renovations to the property BEFORE they arrive surely isnt difficult. If we knew about these renovations we still would have made a booking at Lalasa, but for when the renovations were due for completion. The only reason I gave Lalasa 2 stars was for the staff. They all were so lovely and friendly, and had to put up with a lot of guests complaining about the noise and renovations, I actually felt really bad for them. We wont be going back - no way. not ever. I dont want to give money to a business that disrespects their customers in this way. Bali is full of amazing places to stay, and thousands of Villas, and when I have to go back to Melbourne for a rest, you know that Canggu is off the list as a holiday destination!

This was the second time at this hotel , last time we came to Bali we loved it aswell . The room is perfect for us with its set up … bathroom going into pool is so nice . The place is kept so clean by the staff who are amazing , they go above and beyond and can’t help enough … hopefully we’ll be back in the future and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back here to Lalasa Villas … which is strange because we always like to try different …. Also location is really good, we like to walk and everything is within an easy walk … failing that there’s always grab :)) Thanks for a perfect time at the hotel !

Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive to our needs, anything we requested they were very responsive! It was lovely to have our own private pool and be a short walk to the beach and local restaurants. It was surprisingly quiet despite being in the heart of Canggu although there was some construction noise during the day. A perk: the amazing Japanese restaurant next door offered a 10% discount to residents.

We stayed for 6 nights. On arrival, we had coconuts as welcome drinks outside by the pool. The restaurant was under construction so there is a small bar by the pool open with a few tables and chairs. To get to the villas it is down long lush walkway surrounded by plants which is very beautiful. The villas are far away from the street so you don’t hear any traffic. The villas have pools and outside bathroom and toilet which we liked. The air con was good and we had no issues with mosquitoes or other insects in the villas. Our roof leaked one night with heavy rain and soaked our suitcase with clothing all through it which was a pain. Smart tv which was easy to use and right in the front of the bed. As the restaurant was closed they could only offer breakfast in the room which you had to order via what’s app the night before. The staff were friendly however there were a few times there was a language barrier. The villa has a small fridge, you get 2 bottles of water re filled daily. From other hotel experiences you get much more than this. Towels were soft. Shampoo and shower gel was not filled when we got there and there is no conditioner. Overall, the villa was nice and had everything in the villa we needed. Good location to the beach and restaurants. Good wifi and easy to get go jeks around. Unfortunately the construction from the restaurant was so noisy that we never wanted to sit around the communal pool, eating in the villa for breakfast was a down fall. Although we couldn’t hear the construction from our villa as it was further away, others who were closer could. For the price we paid it wasn’t reasonable with the amount of noise we could hear from the construction. The hotel should inform guests of this prior to them booking.

Overall wonderful villa and service by the friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in a deluxe pool villa and loved the room and the pool was even bigger than we expected. Even though my 'cons' below are serious, the villa resort itself has many high points which is why I am giving it a 4 rating. Pros: - Room was very nice. Clean, comfortable, you could login to Netflix & Prime on the TV. - The pool was clean and as mentioned slightly bigger than expected. - The bathroom is large with great shower & bathtub. - The beds and bedding were comfortable. - The local Italian restaurant L'Osteria is excellent as are many others! - The floating breakfast in your pool is a great experience. - Go to the bar for a drink - the staff are wonderful We were unsure of the 'open' bathroom to the pool and the mosquitos - there is a blind that comes down and helps (there are blinds everywhere in the room to minimize sun/heat, as well as good A/C), and for the mosquitos, we bought coils at the local shop and lit them in the evenings and we didn't have any major issues with them, even with temperatures in Dec of 32-35F and high humidity. Cons: - First, the big one -- the FIREWORKS! Every night for the duration of our stay we were awoken throughout the night (usually starting around 10 p.m. and not ending until 4 or 5 a.m. the next day) by FIREWORKS! We told the front desk how horrible this experience was and they said it was an issue with a) the distance beach clubs and b) some person(s) near the villas that likes to light fireworks. It honestly sounded like gunfire it was so loud! This is a reason why we probably won't be back and will choose another villa in the future, which is sad - sleep quality really matters! - The food - we had food at their in-house bar and it was not very good (2 out of 5 stars). Also, we planned to eat at the Japanese restaurant attached but we like sake and we asked for it 'cold' and the bottles were never chilled so a) would have taken too long to chill and b) cold sake should already be refrigerated for the best taste in our opinion. This was enough for us to find another Japanese restaurant that we loved and ate at 5 nights out of 9! - Though the area has good restaurants to walk to, the nearby beach BERWAWA which we walked to one morning was the dirtiest beach I have ever seen, covered in trash with dogs scavenging for food. - If you use a blow dryer, that was my only issue with the room amenities - it was not very powerful and didn't do much better than air drying.

Staff were amazing, food and cocktails was so good. Villa was very clean and pool was fab in villa. Having a shared pool too was nice. Would definitely go back
