Best Hotels in Anuradhapura

The hotel rooms are basically two-story wooden detached houses with a very good environment, just like in the forest. The staff is very welcoming, the hotel facilities are great, the pool is beautiful, the buffet breakfast and dinner are plentiful. It's not too far to live here after watching Lion Rock.

Not bad, breakfast is OK, the room is a bit old

Uga Ulagalla Resort is a private luxury resort located in a beautiful green forest in the heart of Sri Lanka. This is the most serene, soothing, and exquisitely built property. Spaciously laid out, with incredibly comfortable spacious villas including personal plunge pools, enormous balconies placed amongst enormous trees in the forest. We stayed here for two nights in February 2024 and had a fantastic time altogether. The staff went above and above to make our stay unforgettable, and everyone from the front desk to the various sections is really nice and attentive. We were wonderfully taken care of from the minute we entered the building until we left. Throughout our stay, Dilrukshi and Darshika ensured that we were having fun and were constantly eager to learn what might be done to improve things. The food was just fantastic, and the service was excellent. There was a broad choice of options from an a la carte menu. Shiraz deserves special recognition for providing extremely helpful and good customer service while maintaining impeccable decorum. Kayaking at sunrise was a breathtaking experience, and I'd want to thank Katharina for making our stay at Uga Ulagalla so unforgettable. The buggy driver, Vimukthi, provided exceptional customer service with excellent manners, proving to be very helpful. We went horseback riding and absolutely appreciated the experience. If you want to spend a nice and peaceful holiday in Sri Lanka, Uga Ulagalla Resort is the ideal destination. THANK YOU!!!

We stayed here for just one night to visit the sites of Anuradhapura but we would have happily stayed longer! It was absolutely terrific value for money - the room was large and spotlessly clean, and fresh towels etc were all provided. The service from the staff was also excellent - we arrived when it was absolutely pouring with rain and we were helped in with umbrellas and shown to our room. We were also driving our own car so can confirm that parking was easy and the gated front made the parking feel secure. We paid for breakfast in the morning where we had string hoppers with fish curry and sat at a little table outside to eat where there were nice flowers pots and a real effort had been made with the little garden. The food was delicious and great value. This is a budget hotel so guests expectations must be in line with that - for the price this far exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

There are breakfast and dinner, and food is OK. The surrounding environment of the hotel is better, there are more small animals and some insects. The pool is open-air and there are more bugs inside. Welcome service is more distinctive, you can take a look.

If you ever wanted a tranquil get away from the hustle bustle and be pampered like you owned the world... I must say Taru Villas Maia has to be at the top of that list.. the serene surroundings... the nature embracing the wild.... smell of nature...Staff trained to make you feel special every step of the way..... just devine! Taru villas Maia is such a unique get away, it has inspired me and my husband to develop a similar get away south of Sri Lanka... such is serenity... such is the beauty and the culinary masterclass they have created... the food was amazing.. the chalets were classy ... the long walkways in silence added to the peace and tranquility you yearn... The paddy fields completed the back drop of Taru villas Maia with the experience incomplete if you didn't get on the outrigger canoes (Oruwa as it is known in Sri Lanka)..... You can't miss it!

We had a great 2 night stay at Milano Rest. The hotel has a retro Cuban vibe, and the rooms were nice and well arranged. The service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly helpful and accomodating about meals, organised a very reasonably-priced tuk tuk and tour of Anuradhapura and Mihintale, and generally ensured our stay was fantastic. Would highly recommend!
