Transportation: It only takes about 10 minutes to get to and from Changbaishan High-speed Railway Station, which is very convenient. But I don’t know if the design in recent years has tended to have dim lighting, so it always gives people a dark and low-key feel. The design inside the hot spring gave me a big surprise. Japanese hot springs focus on local color and culture, but they are limited to the local people's persistence and tradition of hot springs. No matter how beautiful they are, there is still a kind of framework, but domestic hot springs are diversified. The route has all the open angles, the interior design is beautiful, and there are many facilities. Multiple indoor and outdoor hot springs, paddling pools, swimming pools, jacuzzi, sauna rooms with different temperatures, restaurants, resting places, etc... Everything is available. You can really spend a whole day enjoying it. In the middle of the rest area on the top floor, there is a small decorative stove. The design of this small stove reminds me of the Oirase Keirui Hotel in Japan. It also has a similar stove. There are many beds in the rest area. It feels like I suddenly went to a jjimjilbang in Korea. The hot spring trip took me to two different countries, haha!! Service: When you go to the front desk to go through the formalities: Fast and pretty. Unfortunately, the staff is a bit mechanized and don’t have many smiles. Plus we southern fat potatoes who don’t know Mandarin well may have a hard time. If I want to point out areas for improvement, I hope that future staff will Be patient, smile more and be kind, and it will be better. Changbai Mountain is one of the top scenic spots in China. If the quality of friendly service can be improved, more foreigners will definitely be attracted to Changbai Mountain in the future. One of the staff members that I want to name and praise is Xiao Chi. She is really attentive to helping us and will fulfill our requests even after get off work. So be sure to give praise to such hard-working employees.

The best part of this hotel is the lady working on the VIP desk in the reception area. She was incredibly helpful with booking trips, taxis, and giving us ideas for things to do in the area! The hotel is nice except for people smoking everywhere. Is it really necessary to have ashtrays all down the corridors? The smell seeps into the rooms and it's disgusting. Check in was fine and they'll keep your bags safe until the room is ready. They also let us check in early which was awesome. Not impressed at having our passports taken away for 24 hours while they were taken to the police station. This was not communicated at all until much later. Location is good if you have a car. If not its a short taxi ride into town or a 30 min walk.

I originally wanted to book one of the two famous hot spring hotels, but time was too tight and there was no room, so I chose the old Dongwo Hotel. Dongwo Hotel arranged a super welcoming hotel. I'm afraid my experience wasn't the best. When arrived our room, the floor (carpet) was super dirty. We complained to reception and they sent a cleaning lady. She wasn't super happy to clean the floor but we waited patently. Once she finished we open the bed and saw some hairs. We called reception again. This time one of the hotel managers came to meet us. She apologized and decided to upgrade us to a nicer and bigger room for free. They still took over one hour to clean it to make sure it was in acceptable conditions. I'm not sure we were just unlucky or that is the normal standard in that hotel. In any case, the new room was good to stay and we were happy with their efforts. Breakfast is almost inexistent for foreigners and it finishes way too early: 8:30. Arriving twice at 8am, we could barely find food. Except for this location, is good (close to train station, close to hospital where you can do virus test, close to connection point to enter Changbaishan (North), close to some big green areas (pine forests) where you can have enjoyable walks in the morning or after dinner. As a conclusion, if I may give some constructive feedback to hotel manager: - please consistently and thoroughly clean your rooms when guests leave; - extended breakfast time to at least 9:30; - include more variety in the breakfast and make sure quantities are at decent level by 8:00.

The hotel is very close ( 25 yuan by taxi or 15 mins) from the train station. The staff went out of their way to make my stay more pleasant: they helped me to get a nice Korean dinner and since I told her my train was at 7 am and I wouldn’t be able to take the breakfast. They prepared it for me in a bag for me to eat it at 6 when I leave to the train station. Really warm staff. At first I was placed in a room with very poor soundproof and the next door neighbor was quite loud , had a duster screaming “ mom look” all the time . So the front desk had me moved to another area of the hotel on e same floor . I had a sound sleep. Something that needs improvement is that I needed 3 pillows , the hotel could not provide extra pillows and the ones the Ed has are a bit too thin. But I would stay again!
