OMG! This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in! The hostel is very large, the rooms are a little smaller, they are all independent, there is also a separate bathroom outside the door, you can take a shower, separate dry and wet, very clean, the hot water is really great! The lawn is huge, and there is a real bed hanging, you can lie down and take pictures, and put pillows! Hahaha, outside the porch are all that kind of hammocks. The kitchen is also very good, just buy oil and salt, three refrigerators, and a swimming pool, a rest place built with school bus, surrounded by chairs and sofas, there is a beverage hall, there are billiards to play, and a quiet The lounge is very big, and there are two small wooden houses, you can do your own things quietly. There is actually a movie theater! ! ! It's a projector! ! You can watch Youtube and search for Sansei III pillow books. Change the language of Apple TV and remember. There is also a large new concept restaurant with a particularly avant-garde decoration, like that of a domestic shopping mall. It is a bit expensive, 50-70 RMB per person. The bed in the hostel is really great! Two pillows! Very comfortable hotel specifications! Especially new! The quilt is also a solid thick quilt! There are also small lights, a plug and 2 USB jacks! Anyway, it's great! The yard is huge! There are several towering trees that are avocado trees, which bear a lot of fruit, and I just happened to fall one. The staff is good at English, cleans them meticulously, and the toilets are disinfected. So when I used it the next day, it smelled like disinfectant.

Hotel Posada de Don Rodrigo Antigua

Antigua Guatemala|0.59km from city center
I stayed here 5 nights. Rooms in this hotel are very different depending on their location in the hotel. The first 2 nights I stayed in two different rooms in the same area where there is a smaller courtyard. These rooms were dark, moisty, and smelly. Beds were hard like a rock. I was also itchy and then I noticed there were small red ants in the room. I could not sleep at night. Wi-Fi connection in these rooms was poor. Per my request, they moved me to a room that was located in the courtyard located just when you enter the hotel. That room was larger and brighter, as it had two windows. It was not as moisty. However, bed in this room was still as hard as in other rooms. Also, walls were very thin, and I could hear all the noises coming from the neighboring room. This hotel has a good location. However, I stayed in much better hotels in Antigua that also have a great location. I recommend not to pay the rate that includes breakfast. The price difference is significant. They don’t explain it to you but... If breakfast is included in your rate, then you have only about 7 different choices on menus that are not good and not worth what you pay. These choices do not include bacon or sausage. If you want a slice of bacon or a piece of sausage, you will be asked to pay extra. The breakfast that I order was not tasty. It included scrambled eggs, piece of bread, and a small cup of weak coffee. There was only space left for me to sit inside the restaurant The tables outside were occupied. The restaurant was dark, moisty, messy, and unappealing. Immediately I asked to switch to charge me a rate that do not include breakfast. The difference was about $20 per night. You will be able to get a great breakfast for less in restaurants located close to the hotel. You will even have a choice to try different restaurants each day of your stay. To summarize, I do not recommend staying here. You can find way better and less expensive hotels in Antigua. Most rooms in this hotel are dark, moisty, and smelly. Some rooms have small red ants and you’ll be itchy. Wi-Fi connection can be very poor inside the rooms. Beds are hard as a rock; you will not be able to sleep. Rooms have thin walls and you’ll be able to hear guests in the neighboring rooms. Breakfast included in the room rate is poor and overpriced. You can find better hotels with great location in Antigua.

Naif Boutique Hotel
4.2/549 Reviews
We stayed at Naif for a couple of nights and - other than the Wi-Fi which was very weak in the rooms, we were happy with the hotel and service when first arriving. They allowed us to change rooms to one with more natural light and offered us free complementary breakfast at Hector’s across the road - a great cafe/bar. However, things went bad when we had some laundry done by the hotel. We had to fill in a form listing our items - in total we had slightly less than a shopping/carrier bag of clothes. We presumed the prices were in Guatemalan quetzal as that would have come to a total of Q120 - equivalent to UK£12.35 or US$15.30. This is consistent with every other hotel in central and South America where we have had laundry done in the last 12 months (five countries in total). However, when we picked up the laundry we were shown the small-print on the form that said the price was actually in $USD, meaning we owed them $120 for one shopping bag of laundry. We could not believe it and could not understand how/where this cost had come from. We asked to speak to the manager on the phone but she only insisted that it was hotel policy and our fault for not reading the small print. We acknowledged this fault but politely tried to understand why it was so expensive. However, when we asked her this she then accused us of ‘insulting’ her and the hotel - a very bizarre way to talk to customers. We refused to pay and continued requesting an explanation for the cost over email - asking to see an invoice for the company that had laundered the clothes… or anything that could help us understand. We were told it came from ‘gas, electricity, specialist cleaning products, etc’ which felt completely nonsense. She then offered us a discount ($85 rather than $120) but said it would have to come out of her pocket. Again, we asked what would be coming out of her pocket - what cost? But she continued to dismiss us and blamed us for not checking the form close enough - at one point even saying ‘every mistake comes with a consequence’ - just one example of the aggressive and unprofessional way that we were spoken to. In the end, we settled on $45 - on the condition that we could cancel our remaining nights’ stay without being charged a cancellation fee. $45 is still crazily expensive for one shopping bag of laundry but with our credit card details on file, there was not much we could do.

So watch out if you stay at Naif. The hotel is nice but these costs - and the way we were spoken to when politely asking for an explanation - were not ok.

The place is completely great, the staff very kind, the location was strategic, everything is very close. The toilets and bedsheets are clean I was completely satisfied with their service. .
Casa Mia Hotel
3.9/518 Reviews
It should be a competent inn in Guatemala, good English and very warm and patient. Because we stayed at a special late night, the twin room was no longer available. There was only a big bed. She repeatedly apologized and promised that we would return to Tikal for a double bed. Our second stay was from Tikal and arrived directly at 9:00 in the morning. Auntie only pre-deducted our first night's room rate. The second time we should deduct it, we waited until we arrived, and said why we didn't deduct it because we were worried that the Chinese could not get a Guatemala visa. Free breakfast, patio, pool, parking and wifi are provided. The only downside is that the signal coverage is not too complete, and some rooms are not available in public areas. The service staff from top to bottom are very good at speaking and can speak English. The small town of Antigua is not big, so it is not far from where you go. The hotel goes right and then turns right to the world's most beautiful golden arch. The beautiful large courtyard background is set against the volcano and church ruins. You can also enjoy a burger.
Chez Daniel
4.7/547 Reviews
We really enjoyed our Chez Daniel experience. Antigua was our last stop on a 10-day tour of Guatemala and we were thoroughly impressed with the level of accommodations and service we received at Chez Daniel when compared to the other 2-star hotels we stayed at on our trip. The two things that stand out the most are: 1) Veronica is a gem. She sat down with us when we first arrived and walked us around the city on a map to point out all of the highlights of the city - and she was just generally helpful with questions throughout our stay; and 2) the breakfast was a really great surprise addition (no other hotel on our trip included breakfast). The croissants, breads, and jams were as good as anything we’ve had in Paris, if not better. And the fresh tropical fruit was great! All in all, we found Chez Daniel to be a lovely little spot to relax and unwind after exploring Antigua each day.
Hotel Posada de la Luna
4.6/535 Reviews
This place is really lovely, the staff is very friendly and caring and the small courtyard is charming and beautiful. They serve breakfast (usually included in the price of accommodation) which is really fresh and delicious with eggs, beans, fruit, salsa etc. They serve coffee and have filtered water available plentifully. The views from the rooms are quite nice and the staff, again, is very caring. I took a solo hike to Acatanengo and the staff was worried about me (since it is HIGHLY unusual to do the hike unguided in a single day). They reached out to me to make sure i was okay and i thought that was beyond great service. Overall would stay here again and would HIGHLY recommend
