Best Hotels in American River

It locates at American River island, ~40min driving from ferry terminal. The receptionist ladies who checked in for us and checked out for us were so friendly and nice. They made us very welcome. The room was very spacious, and faced to the river. Amazing view. Although it was near the street, the room was quite during my stay. No noises heard at that time. The bed was comforty and large. The bathroom was a bit small than what i thought. But it is okay. All facilities are included. The room was provided with microwave/cutley... Also they provide me with complimentary a bottle of wine, biscuits, potato chips and cookies. So glad that we did not need starving until next day (as we came late and no restaurant was open on KI) The breakfast was good, better food and coffee than other Cafe outside. The lady Yuki was very nice and friendly We definitely will come back again and recommend to other friends of mine.

Nice hotel locating at Kingscote, Kangaroo Island. The beach next to is small but has beautiful scence. We stayed at upper delux floor which is spacious with kitchen and washing machine. Supermarket and restaurants are closed to but open up to 6:00 pm. Dinner can be served inside the hotel with laat order around 8:30. It's good for self drive that parking spaces are adequate.

The location was excellent: facing the water and only 5 minute walk to town. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond regarding the environment: e. g. not just an in-room recycling bin, but also compost (which we did not find elsewhere in Australia), organic teas, etc. It is an old-style motel, down to the cinderblock walls, but our room was completely remodeled with a contemporary kitchen and bathroom, electric heat pumps, refinished hardwood floors, etc. The bed was very comfortable. We had a 2 bedroom unit with a great ocean view, which was quite large, with plenty of room for suitcases and shelving. We were quite happy with the accommodations and would recommend it to any friends planning to visit the island.

Hotel conditions are not bad in Kangaroo Island, the parking lot is very large, the hotel is clean and hygienic, the check-in is convenient, the hotel only provides breakfast, there will be some restaurants and convenience stores in the town, very convenient

Having booked 3 months in advance of our 5 night stay I thought we may have been given a better site than we did. We are happy to go 'rustic' or even bush camping but to be given a site, in a paddock, on the main road and with no shade was disappointing to say the least! The van faced west - the last in the row so we were not afforded the afternoon shade from the van next to us & meant we had to park our car alongside the van and use the awning on the car for shade. The amenities were hot, claustrophobic and flooded most afternoons... There were no bins/recycling crates around the park. The site was perfect for a one night stay due to pre/post KI ferry access.... as there was enough room to leave the car hitched to the van... This was less than expected at a free camping site and grossly overpriced at $40 per night. There were sites given to overnight visitors that was better than the one we had.. We left 2 days early due to the poor location and lack of shade (temp was 39°) Would not recommend for a longer stay than one night... Not sure how this has been given the endorsement from Big 4... classic or not - some sites leave a lot to be desired... Having said all of this, the hosts were friendly and the view was magnificent...

Very good location. It is only 3 minutes drive from Kangaroo Island Ferry Terminal. We arrived at 6 o'clock in the evening. The sign was found to be a separate two-bedroom chalet. The room was very satisfactory. The kitchen utensils were all complete. Very good one-stop travel experience.

Friendly staff. Gorgeous glamping tent, really spacious and comfy bed. Nice location. Kitchen however only has microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle. Outdoor BBQ. Showers were cold but I only showered late in the evening so possibly could have been hot first thing in the morning.

It is highly recommended to play on Kangaroo Island. It is suitable for many people or families. The interior environment is clean and hygienic. The boss is also super friendly. The evening can be in the backyard. The opposite side of the sea is the sea. It is close to the natural scenery because the hotel is in Kingscote. Therefore, it is relatively convenient to buy food and eat. I wish you all the fun of the friends of Kangaroo Island.

Very close to Flinders National Park. If you go there, it is very convenient to live here. The environment is also ok. Many of the surrounding RVs are also stationed here. The room is not bad. The cabins in the forest feel quite interesting. Simple but comfortable. Wild and full of fun. Child likes
