Best Four Star Hotels in Albufeira

The problem with this hotel is the management. The hotel is very big and the route sign is not clear. I was lucky to find the room after walking for 30 minutes. And the breakfast information is wrong, the parking information is wrong. These problems should be improved through management, and good results should be obtained.

The hotel is big and has several attractions, from indoor and outdoor pools and animation, gym, playground, all very good. Positive points - impeccable cleanliness, friendliness of staff, hot water, small appliances that were old but worked perfectly, cable TV with several channels. Negative points- the furniture is old, the mattresses are uncomfortable, at the reception I was attended by an inexperienced person and was being charged twice the value of the extra bed, very weak internet, we never managed to get a signal during our stay. A lot to improve for a good comfort of the guests.

The hotel was lovely , room was spotless and spacious but the staff were what made our stay so comfortable between loaning chargers and just overal their hospitality I would highly recommend this place to anyone we had 4 different staff on during our stay and not one bad review on them , although all inclusive I would advise to stay with the buffet the ‘special restaurant were appalling ’ the buffet was lovely and such a great selection they had something for everyone weather your a fussy eater or a food lover and staff were lovely in their too it’s a great hotel right next door to a super market and bars etc and Tabaco shop just at the corner everything right at your feet about a 5 min walk to the ***** and the beach . It’s a great stay if it’s a family Holliday or just a couple break

had a nice break here , very good location and nice sea view on fourth floor, clean and nice staff, close to old town , pool lovely, the hotel was a little too quiet for my 12 year old son however as no day entertainment at all , no restaurant at evening either but we like eating out anyway, breakfast was good and staff are all helpful.

I wanted to do a review as before we left I was extremely nervous reading some of the negative ones on here. So we went for 10 night family holiday. 2 adult and 3 kids (16, 10 & 6) We arrived at 1am, checked in with security & a mini van brought us to our apartment. I was pleasantly surprised by our apartment. It was 2 bed, 1 bathroom 1 ensuite (but the same size as bathroom) apartment with loads if space. I couldn't believe the space! Fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster,coffee machine, fridge and separate freezer. There was also a washing machine & dryer. Plenty of towels and hair dryer in one of the bathrooms. Aircon in bedrooms and living room. Good size comfortable couch/ sofa bed. T.v in living room and bedroom. An extendable kitchen table & 6 chairs. Garden terrace with garden furniture. The resort itself is beautiful and spotlessly clean. It is very big with a good few hills. We didn't mind this but something to bare in mind if you struggle with hills, are in a wheelchair or need extra walking assistance. There was a few creepy crawlies/ spiders/ ants but this didn't bother me. It's a garden village not a 5* hotel complex. There was no building work being carried out when we were there. The area was so peaceful and quiet. Even a night time. There are 4 pools over the resort in different areas. Each area is spotlessly clean and have a snack bar/ restaurant. We spent most of our days at La Pergola poolarea as the kids just preferred it here. There was always a few sunbeds available. Food was lovely, staff we just so nice & friendly, cocktails were good too! Our first morning we had breakfast at Casa Azul. Food & service was excellent and the view was beautiful. We had dinner on two night in O Pavilhão. The food here was exceptional!!! Could not fault one thing. And the staff were amazing, so friendly. I genuinely could not recommend this place enough! Mini market was handy. A bit pricey but had all the essentials. We went to Pingo Doce supermarket about 10min walk from the resort to do a big shop when we arrived. There was a fruit stall along the way and the peaches here with amazing!!! Staff at reception were always very friendly and helpful. We got a local taxi to the Old Town most days, which cost 5e as we needed a 5/6 seater for us all. We got it to taxi rank 1, it was just a 2 min walk from the main square. I tried Uber one two occasions and it was just a disaster so I stuck with the local service and they were friendly, quick and efficient. Never let us down! When we were leaving we got a taxi from taxi rank 2 a few nights and this cost 6e. The weather was amazing while we were here also. Temperatures ranging from 26°- 31°. My only criticism would be the level of cleaning done in the apartment before we arrived. There were a few stains on the counter tops, fridge & freezer doors, inside the fridge. Great return flight on Jet2. Flight arrived at Faro airport around 09.30 a.m. and we were directed to a coach for the hotel; with 2 other couples, we were the last passengers off the bus at our hotel at 12.20 p.m. (a journey almost 3 hours. in a taxi it takes 45 mins). When we presented ourselves at reception we were told that the rooms were not ready, and would not be available till 3.00p.m. ????This hotel has 111 rooms + 10 suites ?????? We (all three couples) were pensioners, and had been up since 04.00 that morning for our 06.45 flight from Newcastle. We were tired and I simply did not believe what the young lady on reception told us. We were not offered any refreshment. When we returned to reception at 3 p.m., I asked the same young lady if she had any rooms available. She laughed and said ”No”. I did not smile or laugh. After such callous & unkind treatment, I vowed to find as many ways I could not to put any of our money into this hotel. There are no kettles or any way of making tea/coffee in the room, which was otherwise fine. Although we made a direct request to the hotel (through the travel agent) for a disabled (walk-in) shower, the hotel was unable to accommodate our request. In the event, the shower was manageable, and the room + balcony was very pleasant. Fortunately, we had brought our own travel kettle + tea/coffee/ milk. The food (half-board) was overall good, with lots of salads & fruit; however, even a bottle of water at dinner was charged for. We paid for a taxi back to Faro airport, 40 mins cost Eu60. this enabled us to grab some breakfast (07.30 start).

This place has polarizing reviews.. After going there, I understand why. The facilities and services are good. You can use the swimming pool, washer and dryer (performance is poor), sauna and spa for free, and although the building structure is unique (1st and 8th floor reception, 2 elevator transfers, etc.), it's okay if you get used to it. We couldn't find the way by taxi, so we climbed the hill with our suitcases, but the reception on the first floor is near the spar mart. They were friendly, but the air conditioner was broken so I called twice and they didn't come so I just gave up. This place is in the middle of the old town, so I actually made a reservation based on the location, but it's literally in the middle of the club street, so even if you're inside the accommodation, you'll be staying at the concert hall all night long. There's no soundproofing, so you have to enjoy it together until 5 a.m. The noise is another level, as foreign reviews say. I’m traveling around the world, but this place is really ambiguous haha. The breakfast isn’t bad, but it’s just ambiguous… . Personally, I think it would be less noisy and better if it wasn't just in this alley because it's Albupay!!

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. The rooms are spacious. Ours had a sea view which was really something else. Two glorious beaches are nearby. Breakfast was varied and really lovely. The pool was lovely..chilly but hey, to be expected. Now for the downside….there are building works being carried out opposite the hotel. We were pre warned that they may be ‘some’ noise. But this starts from 7am til 7pm….every day apart from weekends. There is also work being carried out to the left of the hotel which is also on weekends…. Would love to say the noise was minimal. But it really wasn’t. Thank heaven for ear buds! The sun beds are pretty worn out…! Not the hotels fault but the guests staying here were SO territorial about them. I heard one set of people running me and my husband down for ‘stealing’ the sun beds off another couple…..really…..?!?! They were empty at 3pm so we had the audacity to lie on them….They then proceeded to get up early to claim them back with towels, reclaiming their territory…we laughed about it. Pathetic really. Anyway, I’d recommend the hotel, aside from the building works and rubbish sun beds. It’s lovely. Really….

Hotel is lovely when you walk in the door but the rest of the hotel is dated. In need of a total revamp. Room is clean, and well equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and a dishwasher and all utensils but no condiments. A lot of noise from crowds of men banging on doors late at night and loud voices. There is a total of 5 plugs in the room, only one that worked and this was the one for the kettle the rest was hidden by furniture and likely the reason they are hidden they don’t work, so was a nightmare if you needed electric for any more than 1 plug. With a teenager it was torture. We were half board but food wasn’t great, selection was poor of 4 hot choices. Meatballs, chicken legs, pasta with sauce separate and a cod pie. Tried the restaurant twice and was the same options both times. So don’t waste your money on half board. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. Highly recommend Clay oven which is Indian before you get to the ***** and Golden garden Chinese at the bottom of the *****. Both meals were fantastic. Pool has lots of sun loungers but pool was freezing, there is a shed with a vending machine as the bar. We tried the indoor pool which was pleasant as it is slightly warmer, but you are made to wear a shower cap that they supply costing 4 euros, don’t understand why as it isn’t waterproof and the hat supplied is far from flattering. ***** is 5 mins away and old town is a 25 min walk both pleasant walks. We made the best of our holiday and used the hotel as a base, I’ve been to Albuferia 6 times now and will come back but to a different hotel
