If you would like to experience living like a smurf - without the blue face - and sleeping like one, oh - and feeling like a fairy princess - then you MUST stay here! Alberobello was on my bucket list and not only did it live up to all its promise and uniqueness for me as a venue, I enjoyed my stay in this trulli as one of my favorite places ever! It was just as I could have imagined it to be and just the way Smurfette would have decorated her room. I just could go on forever how special this place was and I wish I spent more than 2 nights here. While some tourists may think that this area is well, very ”touristy”, I enjoyed every step, every shop, every handicraft, every stone, every rooftop I happened upon, every smell, every sight...do ya think I liked it? I went here with my sister-in-law (who I normally fight with) and we enjoyed each other's company here so much! We just kicked back and took it all in. The Romantic Trulli met all of my expectations. First, our welcome was lovely and we met the owners in the gift shop that I think they own, after buying a few things of course. We were taken right over to the trulli, with help for our luggage, and we felt so SPECIAL, when we go to to go through the little rope that was up only for residents. Upon entering the little house, I was awestruck and couldn't even talk. It was tiny but just so lovely - I know I will keep saying that - but it just was. It even came complete with a parasol to take LOVELY pics with. The pics do not even do it justice. If I had the chance to do it again, I would stay in a bigger one to see what those looked and felt like. And I hope to do Alberobello again. For me, it was a step back in time. I crossed the touristy area, past the restaruants into the area that contains some houses that are no longer lived in so you can look in and still see stoves like from the early 1900s! There is also a viewpoint in which you stand and that is the EXACT view I have seen on google that I googled and oggled over - I couldn't believe when I found it - you see all the trullis in the background. The streets were completely empty and I just strolled and strolled.... with no tourists or anyone to interrupt my thoughts about life here. Anyway, stay here if you can. The breakfast was very yummy too with delicious fruits, bread and jams. I have only wonderful things to stay about this property and area. It worth the trek. My sister and law and I traveled all over southern Italy to one of the southernmost cities and the drive here was out of this world. We went down the tiniest of roads, got lost, and when I saw my first TRULLI, I screamed and scared my sister-in-law who was the driver - I was the mapper and guide. I will never forget when I saw my first trulli, because many others followed - and I just felt like I was a smurf in smurf country. It was one of my best trips ever! And I have been to maybe 40 countries! Don't miss out on this odd treasure of a place. Only thing is
Outstanding
