The price range for transfers from the Airport to the City ranges from EUR 12 to EUR 35 depending on the type of car you are using. It is a distance of less than 10 kilometers and is usually covered in 10 to 20 minutes.The most common mode of transport at Chiang Mai International Airport is a converted pick-up truck called Songthaew and a three-wheeled vehicle called Tuk-tuk. There is an open-air parking which accommodates more than 400 vehicles. There is a multi-level parking garage one which accommodates more than 1,300 cars. Parking for an hour costs at least THB20.00. But overnight, parking costs THB250.00.

What about security? At Chiang Mai International Airport there is an on-site security both day and night. Are the car parks convenient for customers? Of course. There is a machine for automatic ticketing, barrier controls, a censor for vacant spaces and a system to locate cars.

Chiang Mai International Airport Terminals

Chiang Mai International Airport has two levels namely, arrival area and departure area. Arrivals area is on the ground floor and has a domestic and international lounge. There are duty free shops, customs, Information Desk, Currency Exchange, post office, food as well as beverages. Departure area is on the first floor. It is also divided into Domestic and International Lounges. These terminals are connected to each other and there is a walkable distance between them. Facilities and Services at Chiang Mai International Airport

There are several exchange bureaus and ATMs in the Arrivals and Departure terminals. The exchange rate is USD1 to THB35.27 but be prepared for fluctuations. These days there is also a new e-Visa Thailand online application system for Thailand Visa on Arrival. This way of application is also available at Chiang Mai International Airport. A complimentary Wi-Fi is only available at this airport for two hours. However, passengers are free to connect their gadgets to the "@ AirportTrueFreeWiFi" network. At Chiang Mai International Airport, restrooms are situated before and after security areas of the domestic and international terminals. Restrooms assigned to Persons with Reduced Mobility or Persons with Disability are available and those travelling with infants can make use of them. Thai Airways Royal Orchid Lounge: It is located in the International Terminal. Services provided are premium food, Wi-Fi, snacks, TV and drinks, among others.
